Your child’s first visit

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your child should be seen by a pediatric dentist within 6 months of eruption of the first tooth and no later than 12 months of age.

We recognize that every child is unique. Therefore we will choose from a variety of approaches to make the visit comfortable and fun for your son or daughter. During your first visit, we will go over brushing, flossing and ways to prevent cavities including healthy foods for the teeth. Dr. Thakker will examine your child’s teeth. We may clean your child’s teeth and apply fluoride. X-rays may be taken depending on your child’s age and risk for getting cavities.

Parents are welcome to either relax in the reception area or accompany their child into the treatment area.
